The Mobco Example: Addressing Mobility Challenges in Rapidly Changing Regions
In June 2026, nearly 10,000 transportation professionals gathered at Porte de Versailles for the first edition of Mobco, a trade show born from the merger of EuMo Expo and the RNTP. This sent a strong signal to stakeholders in the mobility sector: the industry is seeking a unified voice and a strategic perspective.
Transportation Minister Philippe Tabarot took the stage. Two years ago, he was at Qommute in Marseille, already attentive to the challenges of passenger information for public transport authorities (AOMs) and transport operators. At Mobco, he reiterated how much work still needs to be done on this issue.
A few weeks after this inaugural event, our President, Cyril Labi, reflects on these three days of discussions.
Insights from Cyril Labi, President of Qommute
« I agree with the minister's assessment, and I'd like to add a statistic that isn't cited often enough: 73%* of passengers avoid public transit when they aren't sure about the available information.
This statistic tells us one simple thing: keeping passengers well-informed remains one of the most powerful ways to encourage them to use public transit and provide them with a seamless, sustainable, and efficient travel experience.
And it all starts with a clear message that reaches passengers at the right time and in the right place.
That's our conviction at Qommute. For over ten years, we've been working alongside operators and transit authorities to develop a solution designed specifically to address this challenge: centralizing and ensuring the reliability of passenger information across all communication channels and delivering it in real time—especially during service disruptions. It is this conviction that we bring to our daily work with networks such as RATP, CTS, and SNCF, and that we continue to roll out internationally, from Luxembourg to the United Arab Emirates. »
The two key takeaways
This visit to Mobco provided an opportunity to see firsthand just how passenger information has established itself as a cross-functional issue rather than simply another technological component among many:
- A concern shared across the entire value chain. Elected officials, AOMs, operators, and manufacturers: the exchanges and discussions confirm that clear and reliable passenger information is an essential criterion for mobility that has a positive impact.
- AI serving people is already at work in the networks. Let's keep in mind that an innovation only creates value if it remains understandable and useful to the user. The challenge today, therefore, remains to translate this technology into clear, personalized, and actionable information for travelers.
Next event: InnoTrans in Berlin
Join us September 22–25, 2026, at InnoTrans, in Berlin, to continue discussing mobility and passenger information challenges with European stakeholders.
